He was predeceased by: his wife Grete; his daughter Barbara; and his grandson Robert. He is survived by: his daughters, Rosemarie Lefler and Monica Schaar; his grandchildren, Cindy Rose (Carl), Brian Brook (Nicole), Sara Brook (Curtis Stevenson), Richard Shand (Michelle) and Kris Lefler; his granddaughter-in-law April Brook; and his siblings, Waltraut Wagschal (Konrad), Ursula Ratzke (Manfred) and Annemarie Wiemann. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
