He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Szewczyk and Leona Szewczyk; his parents-in-law, Rita and Don Kneller; and his brother-in-law Gregg Peters.

He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Szewczyk; his children, Christopher Szewczyk, Kimberly Kwasnecha (Jeremy), Nicole Szewczyk-Celiz (Nicholas) and Jennifer Amundson (Jeff); his grandchildren, Mason and Kylee Kwasnecha; and his siblings-in-law, Kevin, Cheryl Peters and Kathryn Leibel (Paul). He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
