He was predeceased by: his parents, Waldemar Kemp and Lydia Kemp; and his siblings, Edmund, Heidi and Henry.

He is survived by: his wife Magda Kemp; his children, Ralph Kemp (Sharon), Terry Kemp (Karoline), Heidi Pagels (Randy) and Glen Kemp (Brenda); his grandchildren, Ryan Kemp, Vanessa Wever (Chris), Zachary Kemp, Bradley Kemp (Emily), Christine Butler (Michael) and Nathan Pagels; his great grandchildren, Brooks, Delaney Kemp and Addison Wever; and his sister Hertha Younge.

Herman had a heart for mission work, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Mission Board in his memory.
