He was predeceased by: his granddaughter Aielah Katharina. He is survived by: his wife Katharina; his sons, Michael (Diana) of Mundare, AB, Thomas and Victor of Edmonton, AB; his grandchildren, Lucas, Toni, Hannah and Nolan; and his sister Matilda.
