He was predeceased by: his wife Edith; and his brother William. He is survived by: his wife's son Rob; his children, Denise and William (Geri); his stepgrandson Jesse; his grandson Benjamin (Stacy); his great grandchildren, Addy and Elyse; and his siblings, Linda and Tom (Linda). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories or a charity of one's choice.
