He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Michalichyn and Effie Michalichyn; and his brother Orest. He is survived by: his wife Violet; his siblings, Irene, Elaine and Michael (Shelly); his sister-in-law Peggy; his extended family, Lavona (Frank), Veronica (Brian), Ryan (Jessica), Tyler, Joshua (Mykayla), Matthew (Chantel) and Thomas (Samantha); and his great grandchildren, Caleb, Reese and Zachary. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in his name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in support of pancreatic cancer or the Palliative Unit at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital in c/o the Covenant Foundation.
