Joshua Cole Gauthier Obituary

Joshua Cole Gauthier, affectionately known as Cole, passed way on June 3, 2024 in Edmonton, Alberta at the young age of 32. Born on July 5, 1991 in Edmonton, he was the cherished son of Sheri Hardeman and Roger Gauthier, and step father Brian Hardeman, loving brother of Alicia Gauthier.

Known for his kind heart and sly sense of humour, Cole was shy and reserved until you got to know him. Willing to go above and beyond for family, friends, and even total strangers, he loved deeply those that were special to him, even if it took him forever to answer a text message. Cole was also a lover of animals; having had several special pets over his life time. His childhood dog Bear and cat Scrapper were especially important to him. His two cats Sylvester and Alice will surely miss him.

As a military brat, Cole lived many places growing up. Edmonton, Wainwright, and Calgary in Alberta; Kingston, Ontario, then back to Edmonton. As an adult, he lived in Calgary, Red Deer, and Edmonton often bouncing between the three not quite sure which he would call home, finally settling on Edmonton for the past few years.

Cole was predeceased by his father, Roger Gauthier, whose death impacted him greatly. He leaves behind a loving family, his mother Sheri (step father Brian), his sister Alicia, grandparents Wally and Leatta Loose, Ron and Loretta Hiebert, uncles Craig Loose (Robyn) and Jean Gauthier; and several cousins and extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
