She was predeceased by: her parents, Mildred Valpy and George Valpy; and her cousin Neil Dalquist. She is survived by: her close friend Peter; her husband Peter; her children, Jason (Julie Boisvert) and Kaley Danderfer (Mark); her siblings, Kevin Valpy (Debbie Broughton) and Kathy Tkachuk (Bill); her siblings-in-law, Fredda, Len Leiman, Barbara, Ken Webb, Judy, Roy Fairweather, Susan Jane and Dean McLeod; her grandchildren, Ryan, Taylor, Mikaela, Chase, Jaxson, Henry and Margaret; and her children, Robb and Sally. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces, and by her first cousin.

Peter, Jason, and Kaley teamed-up to stay with Karen 24/7, as much as Covid protocol would allow.
