Laurie Earl Guthrie Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laurie Earl Guthrie (Edmonton, Alberta), who passed away on March 29, 2021, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Douglas (Doug) and Laura Esther; and his brother William Jack. He is survived by: his wife Terry; his sons, Marc, Matthew (Katie) and Andrew; his brothers, Jim (Marion) and Doug (Norma Jean); his sister-in-law Yoko; his grandchildren, Audrey, Ian, Elijah, Christian, Jacob, Aiden, Olivia, Deidra, Kamryn, Laurie, Mesa, Michael, Elizabeth, MaryJane, Joseph and Covid19; and also Katie.

Matthew recently married and four more grandchildren came into the family; Michael, Elizabeth, MaryJane and Joseph, due to Covid19 and the illness, Laurie never had an opportunity to meet the children, or their Mother Katie, but he would have welcomed them all with open arms!

In his early years, he made annual donations to Keyano College in Fort McMurray. In later years, he made donations to the Stollery Children's hospital in Edmonton, to the St. Paul museum, and he most recently donated a building to the McMan Youth Family and Community Services in Fort McMurray.
