With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Leonard Albert Zinyk (Edmonton, Alberta), who passed away on February 26, 2026 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid Leonard farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Leonard is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Wasyl Zinyk and Anna Zinyk; and the mother of his children Doreen Zinyk (Carruthers). He is survived by: his wife Eva Zinyk (Cooney); his children, Robin Nicol (Bob), Darren (Lisa) and Dawn; and his stepchildren, Dave Cooney (Carmen), Russell Cooney (Sherri) and Patti Karaim (Scott). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
