She was predeceased by: her husband Joao; and her children, Ana and Jose. She is survived by: her son John Melo (Shelly); her grandchildren, Debbie Gomes (Dinis), Ryan Melo (Brianna), Kimberly Nykiforuk (Darren), Jeffry Melo and Dyanna MacBeath (Ryan); and her daughter-in-law Maria Lourdes. She is also survived by many relatives and dear friends.
