She was predeceased by: her husband Siegfried Hilmer. She is survived by: her daughter Monika (Dan); her granddaughter Jennifer (Franc); her great grandchildren, Tatiana, Evan and Sophia; her grandson Shaun (Crystal); her great grandchild Emma; and her grandson Aaron.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made in Maria's name to the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation.
