Maria Hendrika Van Wyk Obituary

We are sad to announce that on February 23, 2026, at the age of 97, Maria Hendrika Van Wyk (Edmonton, Alberta) passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Maria Hendrika Van Wyk to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Martinus Collin (Tinus) and Petronella Collin (Nel); her husband Gysbertus (Bert); and her sons, Jacobus (Jack) and Martinus (Martin).

She is survived by: her children, Petronella (Al) and Leonardus (Leo); her daughter-in-law Barbara; her brother Arie; her grandchildren, Sarah (Matt), Amy (Austin), Jordy, Caitlin (Brandon), Shianne and Landon; and her great grandchildren, Sophie, Carlena, Kaylee, Isabelle and Miles.

A funeral service was held on Monday, March 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Annunciation Catholic Church (9420 163 St NW, Edmonton, AB T5R0A7).

The family extends much appreciation and thanks to Dr. "A" and staff at the Alzheimer's West Wing of Villa Marguerite, for the compassionate care given to Mia over the past three plus years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the charity of ones choice in Mia's memory.
