With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Ida Korte (Edmonton, Alberta), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 13, 2025 at the age of 103. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard Taphorn and Mary Taphorn; her former husband George Tameling; her husband Joseph Korte; her son Bernard Tameling; her daughter-in-law Loretta; her granddaughter Jeanette Hinz; and her siblings, Joseph Taphorn (Clara Ropchan), Leo Taphorn, Sr. (Albert Taphorn), Margaret Boran (Paul Taphorn), Isabel Ropchan (Bernadine Gallant) and Helen Jacobs (Bernard Taphorn).
She is survived by: her children, Rose Goudreau (Gerard), George Tameling (Donna), Jerome Tameling (Dorothy) and Margaret Korte (Gerard); and her siblings, Andrew Taphorn, Martha Ropchan (Alec) and Ted Taphorn (Karen). She is also survived by her 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great- grandchildren.
