He was predeceased by: his father Bill. He is survived by: his wife Karen; his sons, Tyler and Jason; his mother Wendy; his sisters, Amy (Kevin) and Jen (Brendan); his in-laws, Terry, Linda, Laura (Andre) and Julie (Martin); and his nieces and nephews, Ella, Claire, Thomas, Aaron, Hannah, Euan and Megan.

In honour of Matt's devotion to coaching kids, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Kidsport Edmonton or a sports charity of your choosing.
