Melanie Biro Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melanie Biro (Edmonton, Alberta), who passed away on November 11, 2025, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Melanie leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Melanie may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. Béla Biro; and her parents, Anna Rosenberger and Joseph Rosenberger. She is survived by: her daughters, Susanna and Ilona (Oscar); and her grandchildren, Maya and Max.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Park Memorial Chapel (9709 111 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5G0B2).
In lieu of flowers and in honour of Melanie's generous heart, her family asks that donations are considered to the University of Alberta Faculty of Education, class of 1949 (https://ualberta.alumniq.com) or to The Mustard Seed – Edmonton. Attendees at the service are also invited to bring a non-perishable item to donate to Edmonton's Food Bank.
