She was predeceased by: her parents, William Potts and Mary Potts; her husband William McMeckan; her brothers, Lawrence and Ken Potts; and her siblings-in-law, Gavin Holmes, Edith McConnell and Eva Hughes.

She is survived by: her sons, Cameron Potts (Kelly) and Greg McMeckan (Elan); her grandson Gage McMeckan; and her sister Doreen Holmes. She is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, in memory of Myrtle's brave fight against the disease.
