He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex and Nadia; and his siblings, Mary Onyschuk, Walter Barnay and Rose Parfeniuk.
He is survived by: his wife Pat; his children, Char (Steve) and Rick (Sandra); his grandchildren, Adrian (Amanda), Evan, Victoria and Stephanie; and his siblings, Lydia Macknee, Peter Barnay, Bill Barnay and Nancy VanLeerdam. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Park Memorial (9709-111 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5G0B2). A burial was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at the St. Michael's Cemetery (13819 82 St NW, Edmonton, AB T5E2V6).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Waskatenau.
