He was predeceased by : his parents, Howard and Zella; his brother Karl Janes; and his sister-in-law Donna Janes. He is survived by : his wife Natalia; his children, Sean and Diana; his grandchildren, Aiden, Lucian and Magnus; and his siblings, Rick (Christine), Anna (Victor), Christine and Lisa (Steve). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Trinity Funeral Chapel (10530 116 St NW, Edmonton, AB T5H3L7).
