He is survived by: his wife Mary O'Coin (Pasher); his children, Jennifer DeJong (Michael), Kevin O'Coin (Candace) and Vanessa Poitras; his stepson Barren Pasher; his grandchildren, Clara, Seth, Ryder, Chloe, Scarlett, Atlas and Kaileb; his siblings, Susan Fry (Al), Cathy O'Coin and Peter (Sylvia); his nieces, Angela Degroot, Rachel O'Coin, Naomi and Kerry MacQueen; and his pets, Butch and Barney.

In lieu of flowers as a gesture of sympathy donations can be made to Rivercrest Care Centre Hospice in Fort Saskatchewan.
