He was predeceased by: his parents, Hendrik Jan Brekveld and Jaantje Brekveld; his sister Jantje Meijerink; his brother-in-law Jerry Meijerink; and his nibling Shirley Ann Berlinguette.
He is survived by: his wife Jenny Elizabeth Brekveld; his daughters, Laura Jane MacDonell (Al), Heather Elaine Teppin (Jonathan) and Keri Lynn Brekveld; his grandson Daniel MacDonell (Amanda); his great grandchildren, Lexi and Marcus; his granddaughter Amy Walsh (Corey); his great grandchildren, Xander, Stephanie, Roscoe and Zahnazaray; his grandson Drew MacDonell (Kristyn); his great grandchildren, Raychel, Jackson, Taylor and Jake; his grandson Ryan MacDonell; his great grandchildren, Paisley, Payton, Paige and Presley; his granddaughter Jennifer Brekveld; his great grandchildren, Max and Mia; his grandson Ryan Teppin (Samantha); his great grandchildren, Chloe and Olivia; his granddaughter Ashley Branco (Daniel); his great grandchild Elizabeth; his granddaughters, Emily Monaghan (Scott), Nicole Teppin (Skylar) and Sofia Comuzzi (Antonia Comuzzi); his nephew Harry Meijerink; and his niece Jeanette Meijerink.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 21st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Evergreen Funeral Home (16204 Fort Rd NW, Edmonton, AB T5Y6A2).
Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society, Shepherd's Care Foundation or a charity of one's choice.
