Richard Frederick Bjarnason Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Frederick Bjarnason (Edmonton, Alberta), who passed away on September 25, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Richard may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Richard touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Valdimar Bjarnason and Muriel Bjarnason. He is survived by: his wife Leona Bjarnason (Newton); his sons, Jared (Jovana) and Brendon (Shannon); his grandchildren, Finn, Archer and Teodora; and his brother Ron.
