He was predeceased by: his parents, Edouard Huppie and Christine Huppie; his nephew Brian Dutertre; his nieces, Charlene Jacquard and Brooke Cardinal; his siblings, William Huppie and Rosemarie Dutertre; his niece Violet Huppie; his nephew Mitchell Cardinal; his siblings, Marvin Huppie, Irene Huppie and Harvey Huppie; his nephew Terry Cardinal; his sisters, Yvonne Cardinal and Lena Streets; his niece Claudette Cardinal; and his nephew Morgan Huppie.

He is survived by: his daughters, Ashley Anne Carew (Dustin Soosay), Erin Leslie Huppie, Kayla Marie Huppie (Oscar Miranda-Ruiz) and Jenna "Bug" Christine Huppie; his grandchildren, Zinaye Adams, Miah Adams, Elianna Huppie and Victor Huppie; and his sisters, Florence Huppie (Blaine Fiddler) and Denise Cardinal (Richard).

In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's memory may be made to support the Palliative Care Unit at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital through the Covenant Foundation.
