It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Toma (Edmonton, Alberta), who passed away on January 15, 2026, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Richard Toma to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his wife Lillian Toma (Kereliuk); his daughters, Jackie McConnell (Toma) and Janet Toma; his son-in-law Marcy Slemko; his grandson Shevlin Mcconnell; his sisters, Dolores Magus (Toma) and Rosalette Mandryk (Toma); and his parents, Mary Toma and Floyd Toma.
He is survived by: his daughter Joy Komarnicki (John); his son-in-law Owen Mcconnell; his grandchildren, Lauren Komarnicki (Jesse) and Katie Komarnicki (Evan); and his siblings, Gerald Toma (Nettie), Marvin Toma (Linda), Ken Toma and Karen Toma.
A celebration of life was held on Thursday, January 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Park Memorial Chapel (9709 111 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5G0B2). A burial was held on Friday, January 30th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the St. Mary's Romanian Orthodox Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Misericordia Hospital, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
