He was predeceased by: his wife Eleanor; and his parents, Elwyn Sheffield and Muriel Sheffield. He is survived by: his children, Keith Sheffield, Krista Skinner (Clayton), Julie Ackerman (Derek), Jarret Ross (Kathy MacLeod) and Tara-Lynn Crozier (Dereck); his grandchildren, Riley (Kirstie), Kassidy (Gage), Kaitlyn, Nathan, Aliyah, Ken, Ashley-Ann (Lucas), Jocelyn and Katrina; his great grandchildren, Carson, Rostyn and Ryden; and his sister Lynn Graver (Fred).
