With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Ruth Barbara Friesen (Edmonton, Alberta), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Ruth left this world on January 21, 2026 at the age of 75, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edna Davis and Alan Davis; and her parents-in-law, Melitta and David Friesen. She is survived by: her husband Vince Friesen; her children, Kim (Mathew), Kathryn (Dan) and Jeff (Jess); her siblings, Betty and Bill (Wendy); her in-laws, Adela (Mel) and James (LeAnn); and her grandchildren, Jeremy, Jordan, Sam, Alanna, Sylvie, Felix and Miles. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Viewing was held on Saturday, January 24th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Serenity Funeral Service (5311 91 St NW, Edmonton, AB T6E6E2). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the First Mennonite Church (3650 91 St NW, Edmonton, AB T6E6P1).
Memorial contributions may be made in Ruth's name to First Mennonite Church or Camp Valaqua.
