He was predeceased by: his wife Myrna; his son Terry Koppel; and his grandson Dwight Koppel. He is survived by: his children, Kim Koppel (Dan Devicq), Rhonda Holmes (Don) and Bradley Koppel; and his daughter-in-law Karen. He is also survived by five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
