He was predeceased by: his wife Emily; and his parents, Mike and Caroline. He is survived by: his daughters, Geri and June; his grandchildren, Sandra (Ben), Jo, Susan, Joey (Kathryn) and Daniel (Charlene); and his siblings, Vicky and Nick. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Walter's name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
