He was predeceased by: his parents, Nick Footz and Katherine Footz; and his siblings, Peter, Bill, Terry and Irene.
He is survived by: his wife Olga; and his children, Warren (Nancy) and Nona (Karsten). He is also survived by three grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Evergreen Funeral Home (16204 Fort Rd NW, Edmonton, AB T5Y6A2).
Wally was instrumental in planning, promoting, fundraising and donated thousands of volunteer hours in the construction of baseball diamonds in Edmonton, and was recognized by the City of Edmonton in 2012 for his contribution to Amateur Sports by naming the last diamond built as Wally Footz Field.
