He was predeceased by: his parents, James Arlo and Myrtle Spencer; his brothers, James, Lorne, William and Allan; his sons-in-law, Robert Chamberland and Steve Ison; and his grandson Marcus Chamberland Spencer.

He is survived by: his children, Faye Ison, Colin Spencer (Lorrie) and Tracey Spencer; his grandchildren, Bradley Ison (Naomi), Leah Ison (Dan), Mickey Spencer (Tessa), Madison Palmer (Nick), Daniel Richard, Christopher Richard (Courtney), Matthew Chamberland (Ashley) and Maggie Spencer (Joel); his great grandchildren, Liam, Amara, Kaiya, Audrey, Lennon, Nellie, Collins, Charlotte, Charlie, Jones, Kinsley, Bo, Kaleb and Nate; his siblings, Norman and Sylvia (Fritz Doering); his sisters-in-law, Grace Spencer (Lorne) and Marilyn Spencer (Allan); his godson Sean Todd; and his wife Aileen Cole. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
