Anthony Tait Obituary

With an emptiness in our hearts we share the passing of Anthony (Leroy) Tait on Sept 29th 2021.

His family will treasure his laugh, sense of humor, his love of life and story telling.

Leroy will be forever missed by his son Barry, daughter Jan (Brian), their daughter Kathy and his great grandchildren Ty and Korbyn, and his beautiful friend Dian.

Leroy was predeceased by his wife Arlene Mae (Floen) Tait in 2011, parents Anthony George Tait in 1966 and Elizabeth Tait 1970, Brother William Tait, Sister Alice Mcfadyen, Nephew Roy Mcfadyen.

Leroy will be remembered by his nephews & nieces, Perry (Louise) Floen and their children, Kirby (Dawn) Floen, Leslie (Dennis) Potoroka, Ron (Simone) Floen and their children, and Kristy Floen.

Through his years he worked at the Bank of Nova Scotia, GMAC, LUSCAR Sterco, with his business partner he started TAGO Motors and eventually started his own construction business. His love for wood work began in his early teens and was a huge part of his life. His happy place was in his garage. He has made some of the most beautiful bowls and vases using his wood lathe…building flower planters to exploding outhouses and bird houses and selling at the Farmers Market. He built book cases and Christmas displays for the Seniors Cabin and helped anyone he could.

He spent a great deal of time at the Seniors Cabin enjoying floor curling, playing crib and eating butter tarts! It was at the cabin that Leroy met Dian Dennison and they formed an amazing relationship…sharing many wonderful years and memories together.

We have been so lucky to have this incredible man as our dad, papa and companion…

At Leroys request there will not be a funeral.

… forever in our
hearts…

We would like to thank Dr Gous & Dr Saincher for your compassion and support…Dad was so lucky and grateful to have you both.

Marilyn Oishi…we have no words that can describe the love and support you gave to dad and our family…The time you spent with our family we will be forever grateful!

The homecare staff…your commitment to the care for dad and the understanding you have shown to us…we truly needed you!

Les Halliwell for engraving dads plaque.

…his hands now at rest…

Words of sympathy

December 29, 2021

Ron Nelson wrote a sympathy message

“This may be too late, but I knew Leroy many years ago, I was a class mate of his wife Arlene and her brother Lionel. I always had an admiration for Leroy, both as a fellow banker, but mostly as a good friend. May he rest in peace, and condolences to the Tait and Floen families. Ron Nelson, Calgary (formerly Aylsham, Sask.)”
