With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gary Groat (Edson, Alberta), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 21, 2026 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Gary may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Gary touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Maxine and Joe; and his sister Joanne. He is survived by: his wife Sherry; his daughters, Kally (Cam) and Katie (Ashley); his grandchildren, Harper, Oliver and Emmy; and his siblings, Ken, Gordon, Donny, Ron and Sherril. He is also survived by spouses; ten nieces and nephews; and many more extended family members and friends.
