He was predeceased by: his wife Rhea; his parents, Joseph Atkinson and Jeanne Atkinson (Major); and his sister Anne Knight. He is survived by: his sisters, Evelyn and Marie; his brother-in-law Wayne Knight; his children, Joseph (Carol), Jeanne, Kathy and Theresa (Vance); the mother of his children Elizabeth; and his grandchildren, Sarah (Rich), Mackenzie (Christie), Carver (Ashlin) and Amy (Chad). He is also survived by his 11 great-grandchildren.
