He was predeceased by : his parents, John MacKay and Tena MacKay; and his sisters, Christie Woronuk, Marion Sproul, Hazel Peterson and Jean MacKay.

He is survived by : his wife Betty MacKay; and his children, John McKay (Moira), Pam MacKay and Peter MacKay (Stephanie).
