It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard Bernard (Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta), who passed away on July 1, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Hendry Bernard and Ruth Bernard; his in-laws, Daniel and Alice; and his brother-in-law Hans.

He is survived by: his wife Diana; his children, Michael (Beth), Jennifer (Rory) and Chantel (Kelly); his grandchildren, Keegan (Rebecca), Hayley, Malorie, Chandler (Micaela), Madison and Emily; his great grandchildren, Keaton, Khloe, Rockwell, Ritchie and Jaxson; and his siblings, Andy (Shirley) and Maryanne (Rod). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Rick's name to the Edmonton Cross Cancer Institute, in recognition of the exceptional care he received.

“Diane and family, I had the privilege of working with Rick at Edmonton Meat Packing for 20 years or so. We had a common gel in the fact that Rick and I grew up in the same area of the city, Inglewood/Prince Charles and although Rick was a couple years older, we knew the same people and would often chuckle about the crazy things we did around the neighborhood.
