He was predeceased by: his wife Sophie Stamp; his son Leon Youngchief; his granddaughter Alyssa; his parents, Joe Desjarlais and Christina Desjarlais; his siblings, Kenny Desjarlais, William, Faye, Clifford, Ray, Elmer and Joanne; his brother-in-law Albert Desjarlais; and his friend Sheamus Martin.
He is survived by: his children, Bruce Stamp, Lindsey Stamp, Beverly Youngchief, Dale Youngchief (Cathy), Nadine Youngchief (Dylan) and Rodney John; his grandchildren, Jesse, Anthony, Carter, Ryan, Olivia, Kayla, Coleman, Mya, Heidi, Candace and Noah; his great grandchildren, Emma, Alias, Brett and Brooks; his siblings, Jean Desjarlais (Arlene), Max Desjarlais (Darlene), Cyrus Desjarlais and Yvette Desjarlais; his goddaughter Nicole Durocher; and his siblings-in-law, Donald Cross (Sharon) and Alma Desjarlais. He is also survived by numerous other relatives & friends.
A wake was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Norman C. Quinney Careers Centre (130 Chief Napeweaw Dr E, Frog Lake, AB T0A1M0). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
