He was predeceased by : his parents, William Sampert and Emma Sampert; his parents-in-law, Byron and Minnie Stymiest; his siblings-in-law, Robert Stymiest and Kay Stymiest; and his nephew Gordon Visscher.

He is survived by : his wife Phyliss; his children, Karen Kurys (Gary), Tracy Konashuk (Ken) and Lyle Sampert (Jacquie); his grandchildren, Abbey Konashuk, Karley Konashuk, Peyton Sampert and Tyler Sampert; his sister Joyce Visscher; and his siblings-in-law, Joan Schanning (Clay) and Bill Stymiest (Claudette).
