He was predeceased by : his parents, Stanley Halwa and Adela Halwa; and his siblings, Ed Halwa, Carol Bannister, Frances Cully, Lucy Betts, Maurice Halwa, Sig Halwa and Eugene Halwa.

He is survived by : his wife Iris Halwa; his children, Leon Halwa (Sue) and Rhonda Pelster (Henry); his sisters, Sophie Hamer and Irene Houle; his sisters-in-law, Joyce Halwa, Millie Hlookoff and Shirley Halwa; and his grandchildren, Ryan Pelster (Hailey), Amanda Pelster and Serene Pelster. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
