He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Victor Mathewson and Claire Marie Mathewson; his son Gabriel; his wife Becki; his sister Francis Wicklum (Paul); his children, Christine (David), Bill Jr. (Melissa), Corry-Ann, Michelle (Jeremy), Leanne (Jay), Daniel (Lisa), Kaleb, Mackenzie (Kat), Mickeala (Daniel), Jennifer and Jason; his grandchildren, Alexis, Alixandra, Joshua, Samantha, Serena-Ashley, Madyson, William-David, Ashtin, Evangeline, Victor, Kira, Gavin, Owen, Dexter, Bridget and Kyra-Lynn; and his great grandchildren, Faith, Evanna-Lynn and Adryan.
