She was predeceased by : her father Paul Shachtay; her husband Pete; her son Bernie; her grandsons, Mark Ragan and Dezi Lorencz; her mother Catherine Shachtay; and her siblings, Nellie Kroetch, Helen Clark and William Shachtay.

She is survived by : her children, Bernard, Adelaide Murdoch (Ken), Victoria McKeachnie (Harvey), Bryant Kushner (Millie) and Brent Kushner (Elana Kemp); her grandchildren, Bert McKeachnie (Kelly), Darren McKeachnie (Elizabeth Nakagawa), Mark McKeachnie (Nicole), Nikki Lorencz and Jenny Kushner (Thomas Ferguson); her great grandchildren, Danyon Lorencz, Damien McKeachnie and Hana McKeachnie; and her sisters-in-law, Polly Stafford, Iona Kushner and Nancy Shachtay. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
