Evelyn Mary Murakami Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Evelyn Mary Murakami (High River, Alberta), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 30, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Arthur; her daughter Sharlene Butz; her parents, Mary and Alexander; her siblings, Florence, Marion, Thomas and Donald; and her siblings-in-law, Laura, Bernice and Delbert DePaoli.

She is survived by: her children, Walter Latour, Brenda Halford, Tony Murakami (Tina), Sylvia Murakami (Garnet) and Blain Murakami (Lee-Anne); her grandchildren, Dyan (Rilley), Nerissa (Ty), Damon (Leah), Kody (Candice), Dillon, Winston, Aaron (Jennifer), Brooke, Bree, Sarah and Sam; her sister Barbara DePaoli; and her sister-in-law Myrna Humphrey. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, extended family.

A celebration of life was held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Highwood Centre (128 5 Ave SW, High River, AB T1V1M3).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Foothills Country Hospice Society in Okotoks, a charity close to Ev's heart or any charity of your choice.
