He was predeceased by: his father Jack. He is survived by: his wife Pam; his children, David (Maartje) and Sarah; his stepdaughters, Caitlan and Chelsea (Michael); his mother Anne; and his siblings, Cathy (Ian) and Rob (Crystal). He is also survived by one granddaughter and three step-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) or the Parkinsons Association would be fitting to honour Jim.
