It is with sadness that the passing of Mavis Jane Southgate of High River, Alberta is shared. Mavis Jane, born on December 12, 1937 in Calgary, Alberta, passed away on October 6, 2026. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mavis Jane Southgate to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Marcus Scott (Sonny) and Dorothy Scott; her brother Gregory Scott; her daughter Kathleen Hansen; and her former husband Jim Gillanders.
She is survived by: her husband Ken Southgate; her sons, Scott Gillanders (Linda) of Lethbridge and Kevin Gillanders (Natalie) of Calgary; her grandchildren, Amy, Stephen, Patricia, Clayton and Shaelynn; and her sister Barbara Marsh (Keith) of Lethbridge. She is also survived by four great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Snodgrass Funeral Home - High River (301 Macleod Trail SW, High River, AB T1V1M3). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Highwood Cemetery (5 St SE, High River, AB T1V1J8).
