She was predeceased by: her siblings, Colleen Rogers and Richard Rogers; her parents, John and Myrtle; and her son Fredrick John Patterson Jr..

She is survived by: her children, Deeanna Patterson (Sandy Patterson) of Hinton, AB and Fred Patterson Junior of Stoney Plain; her sister-in-law Moreen Smyl (Denise Rogers) of Whitecourt, Alberta; her brother Shirley Rogers of Sherwood Park; and her niece Sherri Rogers of Sherwood Park.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be offered to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Memory of Carolyn.
