“Whether early or late, on shift or in my private vehicle, during my tenure at various remote stations, or long after I had transferred to another park, Roger remained - the constant, the familiar face of the East Gate - even years later remembering me, as I pulled up to the window and eagerly filling me in on the park personalities and politics that I had missed. And now, retired, and having learned far too late of his untimely departure, we're missing and remembering him. God speed, faithful friend.”
