He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Billy" Dion and Sara Dion; his daughter Laurie Dion; his grandchildren, Janice Jackson, Charmaine Watchmaker and Darren Large; his siblings, Benny, Peter (Maggie), Rose Anna (George), Madeleine, Alice (James), Allan and Theresa; and the mother of his children Helen Desjarlais.

He is survived by: his wife Florence; his children, Drayton (Denise), Candace, Tina, Terrace, Michelle Bellegarde (Andy) and Patricia Trottier-Schweigert (Marlo); and his brother Joseph (Ruth). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren & great-grandchildren.

A wake will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Kehewin New School. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
