He was predeceased by : his parents, Arthur "Shirley" Holben and Lorene Holben. He is survived by : his siblings, Jane Nelson, Marilyn Holben and Darrin Holben (Cheryl); his nieces and nephews, Kayley MacMillan (Mike), Eric Nelson (Tara), Logan Holben and Raegan Holben; his great-niece Holly Nelson; his great-nephew Joey Nelson; and his aunt Connie Reid (Bob). He is also survived by many cousins, relatives and friends.

Memorial donations in memory of Russel may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, the Galahad Cemetery or a charity of the donor's choice.
