He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Vital and Marie Quintal; his son Travis Quintal; his mother Jenny Quintal; his stepdaughter Cathy Tremblay; and his aunts and uncles, Doris, Maria Quintal, Morris and Ernie.

He is survived by: his close friend Bernice Cardinal; his daughter Tammy Mathias (Sheldon); his stepchildren, Charlotte Lavallee (James) and George Tremblay; his brother Joseph De Cardinal; his aunt Bernice Quintal; his uncles, Art Quintal and Daniel Quintal (Kathy); his godchildren, Alison Boudreau, Chris Tremblay and Stacy Desjarlais; and his siblings, Bertha Desjarlais, Nancy Desjarlais-Hollman, Ben Desjarlais (Sally), Kevin Desjarlais, Shirley Summers (Dave), Harvey Desjarlais and Darlene Woodward. He is also survived by numerous stepchildren, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
