He was predeceased by: his wife Sonia Balaban; his parents, Michalina Balaban and Paul Balaban; and his siblings, Violet, Olga, Walter, Maria and Bronnie.
He is survived by: his children, Pauline Schaub (Rene), Janet Blanchette (Rick), Shirley L'Heureux (Ronald), Billy Balaban (Koreen) and Diana Mauch (Rodney); and his sister Emily Vennard. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
