He was predeceased by : his sisters, Elsie, Veronica and Phyllis. He is survived by : his wife Shirley; his children, Joann Locke, Don Strap and Cheryl Strap (Rob Zukowski); his grandchildren, Ashleigh (Riley), Ryan (Eve), Brandon (Katrina), Lindzey (Tyrel), Tahner (Chelsea), Andrew, Amy, Brittany (Corey), Sabrina (Clint) and Mikey; his great grandchildren, Isla, Finleigh, Norah, Cambria, Malachai, Brynn, Callen, Amelia, Anaya, Nolan, Naomi, Adeline and Maxwell; and his brother Peter. He is also survived by numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Philip Strap's honour may be made directly to the Kidney Foundation.
